Uzbekistan to introduce special tourist card ‘Uzbekistan Pass’

Uzbekistan plans to introduce a special tourist cards for foreign tourists ‘Uzbekistan Pass’ from 2018.

This is stipulated by the presidential decree “On priority measures for development of sphere of tourism for 2018-2019” from 16 August.

According to the document, the tourist card will be valid throughout the territory of Uzbekistan and will provide an opportunity to purchase goods and services at a discount, including online. Tourists will also receive discounts during the visit of cultural sites.

The document said that ‘Uzbekistan Pass’ can be purchased at airports, hotels and other places. Also, tourists will be able to obtain the when they obtain visas to enter Uzbekistan.

The resolution said that Uzbekistan’s tour operators will include ‘Uzbekistan Pass’ to their services.

According to the document, about 200 million soums will be allocated for implementation of this initiative.
