Fund Forum presents Uzbekistan at World Trade Day


Fund Forum co-organized a presentation of investment and cultural-historic potential of Uzbekistan within the international conference and exhibition World Trade Day at Bryant University (Rhode Island, the United States).

Other co-organizers of the event were Chafee Center for International Business, Permanent mission of Uzbekistan at the United Nations and Consulate-General of Uzbekistan in New York. Some 500 representatives of the US business, ministries and departments of the USA, foreign counties attended the event.

A multimedia presentation of social-economic development of Uzbekistan, foreign trade economic relations, conditions for doing business and foreign investments was held at the session “Growing global markets”.

The participants were informed about initiative on creation of International Solar Energy Institute in Tashkent at the assistance of the ADB. The institute will help to develop and introduce alternative sources of energy.

Participants expressed great interest to information on holding strong social policy in Uzbekistan. In particular, they received information on the state programme “The Year of Well-being and Prosperity”, which envisages mobilization of resources of the state sector, public and civil society.

Gerald Cohen, a leading expert of the Center on development of international business under the Bryant University, stated that after visit to Uzbekistan in autumn 2012, he opened for himself a unique country with rich natural resources, fast growing economy, stable political system and, first of all, educated, hard-working and hospital people. He said that Uzbekistan potentially is next “Asian tiger”.

Within the conference, the exhibition was also held. It attracted such companies and banks as Bank of America, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Royal Bank of Scotland, UPS, Rimes Inc, Banneker, OceanAir, Alex and Ani, etc.

Uzbekistan presented its stand in national style. The stand presented potential of Uzbekistan in tourism and cultural heritage of Uzbek people. The visitors received brochures about Fund Forum and Kelajak Ovozi.

World Trade Day is one of the largest international business forum in northern-eastern US. It is organized by the Chafee Center for International Business under the Bryant University. The event is aimed at establishing contacts between the US and foreign business circles.
